Your DB Knowledge Will Explode

Almost Time to Move to Our New Crib

I am still filled with excitement!

On Wednesday, I informed you how the All Eyes DB Camp Member’s Area will be moving to a new platform that is 10x better than what we have right now.

The tools that the move to Mighty Networks is giving me to spread my knowledge and that of others, to teach my loyal members, is far beyond what was previously thought possible. I am looking forward to the journey.

Once again, we are launching on Monday October 7th (last email had the wrong date. Monday is the 7th, not the 6th)

Here are some more reasons why I am so geeked up for this move to Mighty Networks

• 3x the amount of posts (Daily posts)
• More Drills and Workout posts
• Ability to connect with other DBs and Coaches
• Posts placed in Table of Contents and or Lessons format
• Ability to have Live Events
• Q & A sessions about DB play, coverages and more
• Ability to post courses on various DB topics
• ZERO problems accessing the member’s area (yay!)

____________

Again, our official move is on Monday October 7th - I will be sending an email on Sunday with detailed instructions on how to access the Member’s Area (if you are one already) and how to join if you are not currently a member.

Either way, you are insane if you are into DB play and don’t jump all over this. Get ready to ramp up your DB play / coaching to it’s highest level.

How Do I Defend That?

I am sure you all have seen the play called “Corn Dog” most famously run by the Kansas City Chiefs to clinch the last two Super Bowls.

If you haven’t, here’s a quick breakdown of what it is:

  1. It is most commonly run in the low red zone (inside of the 10 yard line)

  2. Receiver off the ball starts in zoom motion like he’s going across the formation

  3. When he reaches the tight end, he stops quickly and returns

  4. The ball is snapped right when he stops

  5. The defender following him stops later (if he sees him at all) and trails behind

  6. The WR runs into the flat and the QB gets the ball to him in the end zone

It is a difficult play to defend and the University of Miami most recently ran it on Friday Night to clinch their game vs Virginia Tech.

So how do we defend? Here’s how:

  1. Defender stays square using a shuffle with eyes on the WR till he crosses the TE

  2. We trail (1 step behind) the WR as he goes across formation

  3. If WR goes all the way across we use a push call to the defenders on other side

  4. If WR returns to original side we pick him up and cover him per normal.

I will have a more in-depth breakdown in the new Member’s Area when you arrive next week. This play CAN and MUST be stopped. We will see it more and more.

Did You See?

The Atlanta Falcons defeated the Tampa Bay Bucs last night 36-30

In the game, Kirk Cousins dissected the Bucs’ secondary for 509 yards and 4 TDs. This is the 2nd most passing yards in a game the last 5 years. No doubt, I will be taking a look at the coach’s copy of that game to see the who, the what and the why.

Which NFL QB do you think had the most passing yards in a single game over the last 5 years
