Receiver's Keep Beating Your Jam - Here's How to Fix It
Hey Defender of the Airways,
Your DB tip is below, but first...
“New Year, New Me”
It’s January, and billions of people are saying those words. Only a small fraction will actually make good on them.
What will you do in 2026? Will you finally reach your potential? Maybe 2025 was a great season for you. Will you relax now and let everyone else catch up? You know they are coming for you, right?
How will you level up in 2026?
The best way to do that is to increase your knowledge and then take action. It’s a simple formula, but one that millions will fail to follow by the end of this month.
I have reached the level I am at today because I was able to get around very knowledgeable people and listen. I absorbed their knowledge. In short, I took advantage of my resources.
Learn and apply. But it’s going to take an investment of your resources. Confidence and performance—whether you are a DB or a coach—is born out of simply “knowing what to do.”
With that in mind, I am offering you this Limited Time Bundle.
The "2026 Excellence" Bundle
When you purchase the 101 DB Tips Soft Cover Book today, you will receive:
A 50% discount on the E-book version (delivered immediately to your phone or tablet).
A FREE copy of my 7on7 Ultimate Defensive Playbook (offered at checkout).
That’s 3 resources that will accelerate you toward your goals for only $109.95.
Why the 7on7 Playbook?
Because it teaches you in simple terms how to play all the common coverages used at every level of football today. It is explained in plain language, allowing you to play fast or teach easily. Plus, if you are a coach, it contains high-level coverages you can use during the regular season, not just in 7on7.
The best part? You can use Shop Pay to split your investment into smaller payments.
The bottom line is: it’s worth the investment... but only if you really are going to be a "new you."
How to Claim Your Bundle:
The discount will automatically appear.
At checkout, accept the offer for the 7on7 Book to get it for FREE.
Now, here’s your DB Tip:
If receivers are swatting your hands or getting by your jam easily at the line of scrimmage, try these 3 fixes to put them in their place.
✅ Move Your Feet
Wide receivers are trained to get outside of your frame to get up field. If you do not effectively move your feet, you will not put yourself in proper position to place an effective jam on them. Your hands will either be too far away or in the wrong position to strike a mighty blow.
✅ Aim for the Chest
If the WR is within your frame (right in front of you) shoot your hands at his chest with two hands. Yes, I said two hands! Don’t shoot for his shoulders because a slight dip by him and you will miss. If he’s moving outside of your frame THEN and only THEN you shoot for the near shoulder with force to upset his balance.
✅ Use Strong Hand Jams
Do not passively lay your hands on the receiver. He’s not your friend. Strike him with force and extend like you are locking out serious weight on the bench press. When he swats your arms, he should meet a solid object. This will throw him off balance and not allow him to get a clean exit up the field.
I expand on these principles and more in 101 DB Tips and in the All Eyes DB Camp Member’s Area. Use these tips to start dominating your 1-on-1 press man reps.
PS - Don’t forget to take advantage of the offer above. It will turn you into a new you in 2026. I guarantee it.
Thanks for Reading!
I hope this issue gave you valuable insights to improve your defensive back game. Remember, success on the field starts with mastering the fundamentals and staying committed to your craft.
