Great at the Line But Beat Up the Field
How to Fix this Important Problem in Press Coverage
Hey Defender of the Airways,
You’ve done great work figuring out how to neutralize the wide receiver at the line of scrimmage.
There was a point in time where you found it hard to get your hands on the wide receiver when playing press. Through hard work and dedication you’ve gotten better at it.
Now you have a new problem….
Even though you are getting good jams, you keep getting stacked down the field and beat on the deep ball.
I’ve been there. Your problem is that you are taking bad angles when you leave the line of scrimmage. If this describes you then I have a great drill for you
Slide - N - Get Up

This is one of my go to drills for guys that are struggling with the problem I described. This drill helps correct your angles off the line of scrimmage in press coverage and keeps wide receivers from stacking you or putting you in chase mode.
I break this drill and many more down in the All Eyes DB Camp Members as we aim to move your technique to the elite level. Try this one out next time you are on the field training and consider investing in your training by joining 100’s of DBs and Coaches like you in our growing Member’s Area - Click here.
