Now, here’s your DB Tip:

Mastering Your Hands in Press Man

Using your hands in press man coverage is a beautiful thing when you know how to do it the right way. Do it wrong, and you can get smoked by the wide receiver. With that in mind, here are three important tips for using your hands the right way in press:

✅ Shoot Your Hands Above Your Eyes

Many DBs want to see what they’re hitting, but that is a recipe for disaster. Raising your eyes to hit the wide receiver's chest leaves your eyes in a bad spot. Keep your eyes on the receiver's hips as you shoot your hands to his chest. You don’t need to see the chest to know that it’s there.

✅ Use Strong Hands on Your Jam

The tendency for DBs will be to rest their hands softly on the receiver so that he can guide you along the route. This does not work in your favor. Good wide receivers will swat your hands off quickly and put you a step behind them on the route. Always deliver a firm jam that the receiver will experience some resistance, knocking him off his path.

✅ Two Hands, Then One Hand

When the receiver is close enough and right in front of you, shoot the two-hand jam. Shock him with two until he chooses a side. When the receiver slides outside of your frame, use a strong off-hand jam to control the release and put yourself in position to attach to the route.

I go more in-depth on this tips and 100 more in the 101 DB Tips Book that you are going to pick up when you take advantage of today's amazing offer. Don't get left out!
