Now, here’s your DB Tip:
If you're struggling with your press reps and missing the jam at the line of scrimmage, try these three fixes:
✅ Adjust Your Depth at the Line of Scrimmage
Many DBs align too close to the WR, allowing him to get into your space immediately. This puts you at a disadvantage and lets him win up the field. Try sliding back half a yard.
✅ Keep Your Eyes Down
You’ve probably heard this before, but many DBs still struggle with it. If your eyes pop up when the WR moves, try starting by looking at his feet. When he moves, your eyes will naturally pop up to his hips—where they belong. Trust me, it works.
✅ Shoot Your Hands Above Your Eyes
Many DBs look up to see where they’re placing their hands, but you don’t need to. Wherever the WR’s hips are, his chest is right above. Practice jamming with your eyes down—you can even do this against a goalpost or the corner of a wall at home (just don’t tell mom 😆).
Try these three adjustments and let me know how it goes!
P.S. Don’t forget about Acorns—start investing and grab a FREE book. What a combo!
Best,
Coach Wilson
